An ode to 2019

After what feels like a lifetime of trying to be something I’m not, I feel like I’ve finally learned to be okay with who I really am.

2019 was  a year with no adventures, no big moments to remember, and no stories to tell, but when I sit down and look back at what I’ve been through, I’ve come to realize that I’ve learned a lot about myself and life over the past year. And that would probably be my greatest adventure.

I’ve learned that sometimes things don’t work out the way we planned or we thought they should.

But it’s totally alright because the journey, not the destination matters. I know it may sound cliché but it never stops being true.

I’ve also learned that it’s okay to put my goals aside for a while. Doing nothing is never a waste of time. Sometimes I just need to stand still for a moment and breathe, feel and look within.  As long as I listen to myself,  listen to my mind, my body and my soul, I know I don’t get lost.

Because… the biggest lesson that I’ve learned so far is that everything that I do and see in life is a reflection of who I am.

2020 is already here, it’s time for me to write a new chapter of my life.

“The way I see it, every life is a pile of good things and bad things. The good things don’t always soften the bad things, but vice versa, the bad things don’t always spoil the good things and make them unimportant.”
